  1. Bill, thanks for the reminder. Great to see these photos. I was there too with my two daughters (13 and 10). In fact, they got up at 6 o’clock, cooked me breakfast and insisted we get there at 9 when the ticket windows opened. Well, I figured there’d be a big crowd but I wasn’t prepared for 40,000 people, and thus began a full day of standing in lines. The girls really wanted some tickets, and 2 1/2 hours later it was our turn. Then, once inside, they really wanted some autographs. We started and left three lines before settling in to the “kids only” line under the scoreboard in center field. Each line was as long or longer than the last and we never did get any autographs. My entire experience, except for about five minutes on the field where we got to step on the pitcher’s mound, was about standing in line, talking to my neighbors, hoping we’d get to the autograph table before they shut it down. It’s amazing what parents do to please their kids, isn’t it? I had to question my sanity!

  2. Bill, this time I liked the photos a lot. They are excellent. I especially liked # 20 (got buster), # 24 (They allow miniskirts in the park?), # 28 (That wasn’t Willie Mays, was it?), # 39 (cool), # 58 (loved the coke bottle and the glove), # 61 (cool shot of all the mice on the field), # 65 (that is a great t-shirt), # 68 (now that is a professional picture), # 100 (pretty cool), # 107 (Did you ask her if she was molded into the jeans?), # 116 (What is that guy holding in his hand?), # 117 (a t-shirt for us old timers who remember these players), # 120 (What is that?), and finally, no # (Where is a picture of you; how do we know you were even there?).

It looks like SF had a warm day because a lot of the people are in short sleeves except of course the lady in the while tank top somewhere in these pictures. Did y’all have to stand in a lot of lines like Larry Hebegger and his daughters did?
